Plenty of musical happenings in March to advance, so let's get to it:
First off, a note about something really cool happening in the world of Kirby Krackle. We were asked to write and record some original music for the Guardians of the Galaxy cartoon series, and two separate episodes in March will feature original KK songs, airing on Disney XD. On March 6th you can watch "Gotta Get Back" blast from Peter Quill's Walkman, and on March 13th "It's A Wonderful Day" will hit the speakers of the Milano. This was sort of a top secret project for us, and it's nice to finally let the lid off this news. At some point this weekend I'll be kicking back in my slippers, holding a cup of coffee and listening to my guitar riffs blasting from Star-Lord's legendary mixtape. Pretty cool.
On March 18th, Explone plays at The Skylark in West Seattle. This is a fun venue and we'll be sharing the stage with our friends Lost Dogma and Raygun Carver. If you live in or near with west side, this will be a good one.
Then on March 24th I'll be honored to play a solo set at the Columbia City Theater for a very special event. It's called Voices For Healing, and it's a benefit for Shepherd's Counseling, an organization that works with victims of sexual abuse. Not a fun topic, but a worthy one and a cause I'm happy to lend my humble support to. I'll be one of many artists, and I even get to share the stage with my good friend Wanz. It's been years since we were on the same stage, and I know I'm looking forward to it. More on this show later, as it's deserving of its own blog post.
Scott has been experimenting with a green screen, which means there are new videos in the works. It's sort of like having Industrial Light & Magic in our garage, if ILM filmed on two iPhones and used a laptop image of an infinite yule log for mood lighting. Stay tuned for the results!
Thanks as ever for reading & listening,
